My laptop has just gone bang, i need cheering up
The mains plug sheared, sparks went everywhere and now the laptop wont boot up, without a power cable i cant charge it to see if its just that the battery discharged or if the battery went bang. Im hoping for the best but its a crap thing to happen
Holy crap hedgehog!
That's really bad. Where did the sparks come from?
It sounds like a problem with your adapter as it shouldn't let too much power get to the laptop; at least, not enough for sparks!
Hopefully it didn't get all the way to your motherboard and just killed the battery.
The sparks came from the low voltage side of the power adapter. I took the battery out and sniffed the connection (if it had burned out it would stink but i couldnt smell anything). I got a little shock off the sheared wire, can tell its very low voltage (I didnt end up at the other side of the room at least). Looking online it looks like the power cables gonna cost 25-30 quid to replace. Not too bad i guess but i would of prefered a tenner lol
Ah that's alright then!
Just hope it all works nicely when you get the adapter.
Still; that does sound like a lot of money for an adapter. How long have you had your lappy now? The adapter may still be under warranty.
Nope fraid not, my only worry is that i spend all that money, get it, and find out it dosnt work
Surely Leon's got an adapter that you can test it with?

Since I uploaded 2p football to download.com, some other sites have been to devaug, picked most of the games and uploaded them to softpedia and brothersoft.

Leon might have an adapter, ill ask him about it
Devaug is like an awesome place to publish software now.
I'll have to make those account settings that I was telling you about.
yeah, any idea who it was? I guess youd have no idea really...but i wonder if they will come back and grab the new projects if we upload them.
Probably just some chap(s) who's paid by softpedia and the like to find new stuffs and link to it.
This requires a news item! Hopefully this will encorage more people to post more projects on here.
