We've all wondered if it's possible to live off of some easy to-do internet-based income and I've finally set out to see if it actually is.
I begin with a roulette tip that is apparently even sold on Ebay; so it must be fantastic, right?!
With Roulette you can place a bet on either a number or a colour. This tip requires that you only place your money on a colour. If you win whilst betting on a colour then you get back what you bet times two. If you lose then you obviously lose what you bet.
This tip explains how to do this, but never lose money in the process. This is done by placing a minimum bet of 1 on a colour; lets say red. If red wins then you get 2 back, so we're already winning! We then place 1 on black. Now for the purpose of our example, lets say that red wins. We've just lost a chip/pound/dollar and we're back to square one! This is where the tip really kicks in. The idea is that you then bet on black again, but this time you place double what you placed last time. If you win then you get all of the money that you've lost back. However, if you lose then you have to double your bet again (1,2,4,8,16,32). Chances are that as you go on you will eventually win back your money, but these chances are what make or break the tip.
So I decided to make an application that would simulate a roulette game using this tip. And then another game. And then few thousand more after that. I'm interested in the outcome in the long run afterall.
Download and try out the simulation yourself here: http://devaug.com/?q=filemanager/active&fid=37
After running this without displaying data constantly for just five seconds, I got the result of around a million games of roulette using only this tip.
The result? You'll end up in millions of 'chips' worth of debt.
But hey; that's why they call it "gambling", right?
Additionally, this tip is all over the internet: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=roulette+always+win
Stick Ebay in that search query to see it with a price tag.
Source code for the simulation I made is available from here: http://devaug.com/?q=node/83

It is entirely impossible to EVER win at roulette.
The roulette wheel as you have rightly pointed out does indeed have a black and a red colour and you do indeed get double your bet. However:
There are two numbers on the wheel, a 0 and a 00,
The 0 means that everyone on the table loses, the 00 does something similar (I can't remember the exact rule.)
This makes it mathematically impossible to break even, let alone win.
I've updated the code to reflect one 0 (European style). I've also the maximum bet limit.
did you still make a profit?
Only for a few minutes before the FAILURE set in.
yep hehe
Was still fun to break it so thoroughly though.
It’s amazing that people will actually pay money for a trick that teaches them how to win at roulette. Roulette is a game that has been played in casinos for generations, and if there was really a way that people could beat the system then it would either have disappeared from casinos altogether or been revised to get rid of this flaw. Anyone who has any experience with wealth advisers will be able to tell you that making money in gambling by using such a tactic simply will not work and won’t bring you any return on your investment. And yet some people are still willing to spend their hard-earned money on the next trick that promises them instant riches.
Hi,
Nice article.......which are the easiest and safest ways to earn money online?
online poker
How can roulette tips actually be any good? It's a game of chance so you would think that any "system" for playing it would simply not work. Looks to me like it's more of a hedging approach to betting rather than making any real decisions about betting based on information, skill, and experience. That's why I much prefer horse racing as a gambling activity; it's a true sport, complete with athletes, competition, and horse racing tips of all kinds.
